Your privacy
Plain and simple: here is what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.
The Penn State Muslim Students' Association (the MSA, “we,” “us”) runs this site for our community. We try to collect as little personal information as we can, and we never sell it. Here is the full picture.
Things you tell us. When you sign up as a student or alumni, RSVP to an event, ask to join a WhatsApp group, subscribe to the newsletter, or send us a message, you share details like your name and email, and sometimes your phone number or graduation year. If you ask to join a WhatsApp group, we collect your phone number and whether you would like the brothers' or sisters' group.
Basic usage data. We use privacy-friendly analytics to see which pages people visit most. It is aggregated, it does not identify you, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
To reply to you, add you to the newsletter or WhatsApp group you asked for, get a headcount for events, and make the site better. That is it. We do not use your information for anything you did not ask for.
Only our board can view form submissions and RSVP lists, and that access is restricted. To run the site we rely on a few trusted services: Supabase (stores form and RSVP data), Beehiiv (our newsletter), Vercel (hosts the site), and WhatsApp (if you choose to join a group). Each has its own privacy terms.
If you donate, that happens on Penn State's official giving site, not here. We never see or store your payment details. Penn State's privacy terms cover that page.
Only as long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email, leave a WhatsApp group whenever you want, and contact us to see or delete what we hold about you.
This site is meant for university students and the wider community. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
